Job Description
We are seeking an experienced, visionary, and dynamic Director to lead Education for Life in Israel. This role is ideal for someone who combines a growth mindset with strong operational, people management, partnerships and fundraising expertise in the civil society sector.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Organisational Growth
- Lead the development and execution of the Foundation’s plan in Israel.
- Expand the scope, visibility, and impact of the organisation nationally.
- Foster a culture of innovation, transparency, and excellence aligned with L4WB’s approach and values (See Code of Conduct)
Program Management & Implementation
- Oversee the design, delivery, and evaluation of programmes in education, well-being, and community engagement.
- Ensure alignment with L4WB’s holistic approach and intergenerational methodology.
- Monitor program effectiveness and lead on adaptation for continuous improvement and timely delivery.
People & Operations Management
- Manage a growing team of professionals, including consultants.
- Oversee operational functions including Human Resources, budgeting, planning, and administration.
- Cultivate a collaborative and supportive work environment that reflects the Foundation’s values.
Fundraising & Resource Development
- Develop and lead the fundraising plan, including donor cultivation, grant writing, and reporting.
- Build relationships with local and international philanthropic partners.
- Ensure sustainable financial growth to support the Foundation’s vision and operations.
Partnerships & Stakeholder Engagement
- Build and strengthen strategic partnerships across civil society, academia, and public institutions.
- Represent the Foundation in policy, advocacy, and public discourse settings.
- Leverage connections with governmental agencies to enhance reach and policy influence.
International Coordination
- Collaborate with colleagues across L4WB’s international network.
- Participate in global meetings and knowledge exchange processes.
- Contribute to shaping the broader vision and direction of the Learning for Well-being Foundation
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in leadership roles within the educational world, non-profit or civil society sector.
- Proven track record in organisational development, team leadership, and programme management.
- Demonstrated success in fundraising, with experience in grant writing, donor engagement, and institutional partnerships.
- Background in education, youth development, social innovation, or related fields.
- Familiarity with Israeli civil society landscape and networks; government relations a strong plus.
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience working in multicultural and international environments.
- Fluent in Hebrew and English (written and spoken); additional languages an asset.
- Relevant academic degree required, Master’s degree or Doctorate in a related field preferred.
