Improving the Quality of Childhood in Europe · Volume 7 · Chapter 3: Elham Palestine: an inclusive partnership for systemic change

Elham Palestine was the inaugural pilot initiative by the Learning for Well-being Foundation (formerly Universal Education Foundation, UEF). Elham, meaning “inspire” in Arabic, was shaped by L4WB guiding principles and aimed to enhance the well-being of Palestinian children through an inclusive national partnership involving education, health, ICT, civil society, and children. From 2008 to 2017, 5386 initiatives were submitted by various stakeholders, with over 30% of Palestinian schools participating. Of these, 397 were nationally recognised as exemplary. This chapter from the book Improving the Quality of Childhood in Europe · Volume 7 details Elham’s goals, partnerships, structure, and lessons learned.
