On 26 February, the Chamber of Senators of the Plurinational State of Bolivia recognised Act2gether Bolivia for its work promoting, defending, and protecting the rights of children and adolescents.
Durby Andrea Blanco, Director of Equal Opportunities at the Vice-Ministry of Equal Opportunities, Decolonisation and Depatriarchalisation, presented the institutional recognition to Tatiana Quiroga, Country Director of Act2gether Bolivia.
The ceremony took place during the inauguration of the 2026–2027 Plurinational Committee of Children and Adolescents, chaired by Vice-Minister of Equal Opportunities Jessica Echeverría. The event brought together children and adolescents from across Bolivia. They participated as members of the country’s highest representative body for children and adolescents.
A national body representing children and adolescents
The Plurinational Committee of Children and Adolescents is Bolivia’s highest representative body for children and adolescents. Members are elected through inclusive and democratic processes. They present proposals, plans, and public policy recommendations to state institutions that support children’s rights. Law 548, the Code for Children and Adolescents, formally recognises the committee.
Since 2019, Act2gether Bolivia has worked with children and adolescents to co-create proposals, policies, and spaces for civic participation. This work reflects the conviction that children’s voices drive social and democratic transformation.
During the ceremony, Quiroga highlighted the importance of listening to children’s perspectives:
“We firmly believe that listening to children is not a concession, but an act of justice and a profound step toward the country we want to build.”
Act2gether Bolivia’s work contributes to the Learning for Well-being Foundation’s broader efforts. These efforts strengthen environments where children can participate, exercise their rights, and realise their unique potential.
